Summary
The Laboratory Services Department is the engine room of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and it warehouses all the data and information upon which the state of environment in Lagos State is determined. For effective management the Laboratory Services Department has been divided into seven (7) discrete units namely:
- Potable Water Laboratory
- Waste Water Laboratory
- Air and Noise Laboratory
- Sensitive (Heavy Metal) Laboratory
- Land and Soil Laboratory
- Microbiology Laboratory
- Toxicology Laboratory

Our Functions
- The department provides analytical services to households in determining the potability of their water (borehole, borewell, well, etc)
- Provides technical assistance to project students at all levels (undergraduate – post doctoral) for their research.
- Advisory role to industries on use of best practices in production processes that are cost effective and environment friendly.
- Partnership with relevant bodies/organizations/MDAs/Consultants for the protection of the environment.
- Provision of internship services
