The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) in conjunction with Akete Institute of Strategic and Human Capital Development Studies (LTE/GTE) yesterday organized a 2-day Leadership Master Class Retreat for LASEPA Head of Departments and Units held at Watercress Hotel, lkeja, Lagos.
The retreat is aimed at enhancing leadership skills and fostering a culture of excellence among LASEPA officials.
The General Manager LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi in his welcome remarks, emphasized the importance of effective leadership in achieving the agency’s goals.
He highlighted the success of the recently concluded Grant Writing and Application Training Retreat and emphasized the need for self-care, seeking support, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Mr. Fuwad Oki, Head of Akete Institute, discussed the importance of leadership in addressing environmental challenges. He emphasized the need for collaborations between the public and private sectors, capacity building, and addressing data quality issues.
The retreat featured expert facilitators leading interactive sessions on strategic leadership, mental health and wellness, and the importance of data-driven environmental standards.
Participants engaged in discussions, case studies, and group activities designed to enhance their leadership capabilities.
Dr. Ajayi added, “The Leadership Master Class Retreat is designed to help our Head of Departments and Units think critically, solve problems creatively, and communicate effectively. We believe that by investing in our staff, build their capacity, we are investing in the future of LASEPA and the environment we serve.”
