The Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 entered its third day at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, yesterday with an urgent call to action from experts to leverage technology and collaboration to combat air pollution in Africa.
The Hon Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi said we must work together to address the pressing issue of air pollution in Africa. He noted that by leveraging technology and collaboration, we can reduce air pollution and improve the health and well-being of our citizens.”
The General Manager LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi said the Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 is a crucial step towards addressing air pollution in Africa
He noted we must continue to work together to find solutions to this complex issue. LASEPA is committed to promoting clean air initiatives in Lagos State, and we look forward to collaborating with stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Dr Rose Alani, lead Air Quality Monitoring Research Group (AQMRG) at the University of Lagos commended LASEPA’s support and collaboration, “LASEPA has been great, the data we turned out were made possible by LASEPA”.
She noted that access to real-time air quality data and ongoing research is crucial in developing effective strategies to mitigate the impact of air pollution.
The Clean Air Forum Lagos 2024 will come to close on July 12, 2024, with a communiqué outlining the solutions and policy frameworks developed by participants.
