The General Manager Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Dr Babatunde Ajayi joined fellow environmental leaders, stakeholders, and students at the 2024 World Environment Day Celebration workshop. The event was organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and centered on the theme Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.
Held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, the workshop had heads of agencies under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, including the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Olakunle Rotimi Akodu. Also in attendance was the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Environmental Services, Dr. Gaji Omobolaji Tajudeen, alongside students, and other key stakeholders passionate about environmental preservation.
The workshop served as a platform for collaborative discourse, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning aimed at addressing pressing environmental challenges facing Lagos State and beyond. Through engaging sessions and interactive discussions, participants explored innovative approaches to land restoration, combating desertification, and building resilience against drought.
