LASEPA in collaboration with FUMMAN organised a one-day training and certification program for ETP users across the state. The aim of the workshop, which took place yesterday at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alusa, was to equip attendees with the necessary knowledge to run their facilities safely and effectively in compliance with global standards. The program sought to guide industries in designing and implementing post-production effluent treatment processes that are environmentally friendly and conform to best practices.
It also guided manufacturers to design effluent management systems that prevent environmental pollution and toxins in their area of operations.
The GM LASEPA, Dr Ajayi emphasized the importance of the training on the environment. “By setting high standards and providing comprehensive education, we are empowering industries to operate more sustainably, safeguarding our environment for future generations. Together, we can build a cleaner, healthier, and safer Lagos, where economic prosperity and environmental protection go hand in hand” he stated.
Mr Rotimi Akodu, the SA Environment, also revealed the government’s willingness to collaborate with industries to ensure that they not only install the right treatment plant but also use it appropriately and treat their waste carefully to safeguard human health and aquariums.
