Officials of LASEPA embarked on the monitoring of the 33 surface water bodies in Lagos State for the year 2024, beginning with the Five Cowries Creek, Ikoyi, which spans from Falomo Bridge to Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge and the Powerline, Ikoyi.
This significant step is to conduct comprehensive analysis of the entire surface water in the State.

The analysis will be conducted in the agency’s ISO certified environmental laboratory and will be for two seasons i.e Wet and Dry, and empirical data generated will further drive policy for the State government regarding the environment.

In a notable collaborative effort, the prominent global energy drink brand; Red Bull, is working with the Agency on the status of the Five Cowries Creeks for Water Sports.
