1. What is LASEPA?
  • LASEPA means Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency. It is the Lagos State implementing Agency on environmental policies.
2. What Can I report to LASEPA?
  • All cases of environmental nuisances can be reported to LASEPA. A few examples include,
  • Noise pollution caused by industrial activities, religious activities, rallies and parties etc
  • Smoke emissions
  • Effluent discharges into the environment,
  • Use of residential quarters for industrial activities or manufacturing purposes
  • Smoking in public places,
  • Environmental degradation et cetera
3. What is the reporting procedure?
  • For effective reporting of complaints,
  • Pictures,
  • Relevant data,
  • Addresses and proper descriptions, can be made available
  • Either through writing, phone calls, emails, sms, personal delivery or by any other acceptable means.
4. How can I be an environmental protector?
  • Everyone is responsible for his or her environment.
  • You can be an environmental protector by having a good rapport with the Agency
  • Making regular reports on all cases of environmental pollution observed in your surroundings
  • You can also form an Environmental Volunteer Corp in your respective localities
  • and register same with the Agency for proper recognition and support services in the event of any future need.
5. Does LASEPA have a volunteer corp to assist in her activities?
  • Presently the Agency is yet to have an environmental volunteer corp that is willing to partner with her towards improved environmental monitoring in the State. All institutions and organizations are enjoined to do so.
6. How can I register as an environmental consultant?
  • To be an Environmental Consultant the following procedure must be considered:
  1. Download the Consultancy Application Form from LASEPA website
  2. Pay the requisite registration fee in the stated Bank Account
  3. The completed form, company profile, and evidence of payment should be sent to (data@lasepa.gov.ng)
  • The Agency will make a visit to your office or laboratory and after satisfactory investigation you will be contacted on the appraisal of your application.
7. How can I be an accredited fumigator in my Local Government Area?
  • To be an accredited fumigator in Lagos State.
  1. Download the Application Form from LASEPA website
  2. Pay the requisite registration fee in the stated Bank Account
  3. The completed form, company profile, and evidence of payment should be sent to (data@lasepa.gov.ng)
  • Submit your fumigating chemicals to the Agency for laboratory analysis
  • The Agency will issue accreditation after safety certification
8. What is a technical report and how many types do we have?
  • A Technical Report is an Environmental Document written by multidisciplinary professionals and containing environmental investigations and analytical reports juxtaposed with regulatory standards of the State, the nation and international organizations.
  • Types of Technical Reports
  • • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report (This is carried out before commencing a new project)
  • • Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report (Social characteristics impacted by a new project)
  • • Environmental Audit Report (EAR) ( Report submitted periodically to monitor Impacts)
  • • Post Impact Assessment (PIA) Report (To assess the compliance with the recommendations of the EIA Report)
  • • Environmental Assessment (EA) Report (Report on existing projects before the EIA Decree)
  • • Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
